His personal interests include listening to and singing in various Raags, reading books on spiritualism and also traveling around the world. It is notable to mention that Rangila Ji continues to learn and hone his skills even today and his current teacher is Ustad Prof. Partap Singh Ji of Kashipur and then from Ustad Nasir Ahmed Khan, a vocalist belonging to the Delhi Gharana of music. Subsequently, he went on to learn from Prof. His first teacher was his father, Bhai Sukha Singh Ji. Bhai Sarabjit Singh Rangila began his journey into music at the tender age of 5. He was born into the home of renowned ‘Puratan Kirtaniya’, Bhai Sukha Singh Ji Almast who was originally from the city of Quetta (Koita) in Balochistan which is now in Pakistan. Bhai Sarabjit Singh Rangila was born on 13th August 1952 in the city of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. His melodious voice combined with rigorous practice over the years can be appreciated in his performance of Gurmat Sangeet and Shastri Sangeet. Bhai Sarabjit Singh Rangila is regarded as one of the finest Kirtaniyas today.
